DIAGNOSIS:
Silicosis / Coal-Worker’s Pneumoconiosis / Progressive Massive Fibrosis
The HRCT of the lungs shows extensive opacities with volume loss with an upper and mid-zone predominance. This suggests massive fibrosis.
The mediastinal windows show extensive parenchymal calcification at the periphery as well as extensive calcified lymph nodes.
This combination is most commonly seen with silicosis or coal-worker’s pneumoconiosis.
