1. Cardiothoracic Imaging and Research Fellowship  Download Brochure

Information: The Cardiothoracic Imaging Unit (CIU) of Narayana Health (NH) City, Bangalore are proud to announce a 12 month Cardiothoracic Imaging and Research Fellowship (CIRF) in collaboration with the European Society of Cardiology.

The CIU is part of the department of radiology and is equipped with a dedicated 128 slice CT scanner. The unit also has a 64 slice CT and two 1.5 Tesla MR systems. The unit is led by Dr. Vimal Raj and is staffed with other consultants and junior staff from the department of radiology.

The CIRF is a 12 month post under the direct supervision of Dr. Vimal Raj. The fellow will be trained in accordance with the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. On successful complettion of the fellowship, he or she will be eligible to apply for level III certification from the ESC for CMR. The post will start from the month of May 2016 following a open application process and competitive selection. 

A suitable candidate will have appropriate post graduate degree in the field of radiology. Masters or DNB is preferred. Post qualification experience in radiology is not a pre-requisite. People with a vision to sub specialise in the field of cardiac imaging and keen academic and research interest will be preferred.

The Department of Radiology Manipal Hospital Bangalore offers a 1-year advanced training in Interventional Radiology.
The program offers exposure to all areas of vascular and non-vascular diagnostic and interventional image-guided procedures. The fellowship provides an integrated experience of clinical care, research, and teaching.
The Manipal Hospital Bangalore has 700 beds and performs  approximately 1, 20,000 radiologic procedures per year of which IR comprises over 3000 procedures per year.

The trainee will get exposure to:
1. Vascular Interventions include treatment of ischemic and aneurysmal disease of the peripheral and visceral arteries.
There is a strong focus on embolotherapy, from trauma to uterine fibroids, to      oncology, to postop hemorrhage.
There is exposure to venous interventions, from simple to complex venous access, dialysis work, IVC filters, trans-venoushepatic and renal biopsies, TIPS, and pulmonary AVMs

2. Non Vascular Interventions include percutaneous biopsy, with CT and US guidance, percutaneous and intra-operative radio-frequency ablation, abscess drainage, fluoro-guided biliary and renal interventions, including in the transplant setting, chest tube placement, percutaneous gastrostomy and enterostomy placement, and spinal procedures such as vertebroplasty, facet and nerve root blocks. The trainee will have good exposure to Oncological interventions such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA), Trans arterial chemo embolization(TACE),radioembolization with Y90 and celiac plexus block.

5. Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Kovai Medical Centre, Coimbatore

KMCH under the DR.MGR Medical University offers a two year interventional radiology program with extensive hands on and clinical experience. Wide variety of procedures in interventional and neurointerventional radiology are practiced in the department and students are trained in all of them. Interviews are typically conducted during the last week end of May and the course starts from 1st of July. The exam consists of an interview which covers diagnostic and interventional radiology. Further short listed candidates will also undergo a clinical and spotter round. Candidates are given a stipend of Rs,40,000/- per month for the duration of course.
